From the Music Directors
To the incoming and returning Bulldog musical families:
Welcome to the Portola Music Department. Whether your student is in the instrumental music programs, choirs, marching band or color guard, this will be an exciting and busy year. Students will have countless opportunities to make friends, develop skills, and grow as musicians.
Nearly 40% of all PHS students are involved in the Music Department and we can’t wait for that to grow as we expand our course offerings. To ensure all programs are successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP, PARENTS! We hope to see you at our many concerts and community events throughout the 2018-2019 school year.

The PHS Music Boosters is governed by an elected Board of Directors and its membership. The Board of Directors consists of a president, secretary, and separate vice presidents and treasures for orchestra, band, choir, marching band and color guard.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer for the Board and various activities throughout the school year.
To provide organizational and financial support to the Portola High School Music Department and to support the program priorities as established by the Music Department Directors.
To promote and encourage school board, administrative, faculty, student, and community interest and support of the Portola High School Music Department.
To foster a closer relationship between home, student, and music department faculty through parental involvement.
10/6/2018 - Congratulations to the PHS Marching Band on winning the 1st place in the 3A division, the PHS Color Guard on winning the 3rd place in all divisions at the 2018 Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association Field Tournament.
